Legal, Privacy & Takedown
Personal beta · Last updated 31 August 2026
In one line: Limelo TV hosts no video of its own. It helps you discover where sporting events can legally and freely be watched — every play button either uses an official channel’s own permitted embed (YouTube’s player, with the channel’s branding and ads intact) or sends you directly to the official broadcaster, league, federation or streaming platform. Limelo finds it. The official provider plays it.
1. What Limelo TV is
Limelo TV is a personal, non-commercial sports guide (currently in beta). It shows what’s on, when, and where it can legally be watched. Where an official uploader has enabled embedding on YouTube, that video may play through YouTube’s own player inside Limelo TV; everything else opens on the rights holder’s own website or app. Limelo TV does not host, store, copy, proxy, restream, extract, or modify any video, and does not use playlist/IPTV feeds, mirrors, or unofficial sources of any kind.
- Free official sources only. We link only platforms where watching is free (a free account or login may be required). We do not link paid or subscription services, and we never bypass a subscription, login, or paywall. Where a match is only available on a paid broadcaster, we show the fixture with “No free official stream” instead of a link.
- Links are verified. A Watch button only appears when the destination has passed automatic checks (the page exists, is on the official domain, and matches the event). We never guess links.
- Permitted embeds only. A stream or highlight plays inside Limelo TV only through YouTube’s own player and only where the official uploader has explicitly enabled embedding — keeping the channel’s branding, controls and advertising intact. Everything else links out.
2. Who owns the content
All matches, highlights, logos, crests, and related content belong to their respective rights holders — the leagues, clubs, governing bodies, and licensed broadcasters. Limelo TV is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. Club and broadcaster names appear only to identify where an event can be watched.
- We never bypass a login, paywall, advertisement, geographic restriction, or security measure, and we never use VPN or region workarounds.
- We do not download, re-host, or re-upload any rights holder’s video.
3. Availability & honesty
Availability varies by country. Limelo TV is built for South African viewers and points only to free official sources, labelled clearly where a free account is needed — final availability and playback happen on the official platform, and Limelo TV does not bypass geographic restrictions. Live rights to major leagues are held by paid broadcasters in many countries; where that is the case we show the fixture with “No free official stream” (and official highlights where they exist) rather than a link. We don’t claim to offer free live streaming of content that isn’t genuinely free.
4. Transfers
The Transfers section lists confirmed transfers only — moves officially announced by the buying or selling club, or listed by the league. It does not publish rumours, speculation, fees, or “according to reports” claims. Each entry links to the official announcement.
5. Privacy (POPIA)
Limelo TV is built to collect as little as possible:
- No accounts. You don’t sign in to Limelo TV.
- Your device only. Preferences (like filters and a saved API key for the admin tools) are stored in your browser’s local storage and never sent to us.
- Feedback you choose to send. If you use “Report a bug / feedback”, the message and optional name you type are stored on our backend (Cloudflare) so we can act on it. Don’t include sensitive personal information.
- No advertising or third-party tracking is placed by Limelo TV. Third-party players you open (e.g. YouTube, SABC+) apply their own privacy policies.
You can request that we delete feedback you submitted by contacting us below.
6. Takedown / rights-holder requests
If you are a rights holder and believe a link or embed here should be removed, email us and we will remove it promptly. Please include the URL and the content in question.

7. No warranty
Limelo TV is provided “as is”, as a free beta, with no guarantee of availability, accuracy, or that any particular content will play. Links and availability change frequently as rights holders update their platforms.
8. Not legal advice
This page is a plain-language summary for a personal beta, not legal advice. If Limelo TV becomes a commercial product, these terms should be reviewed by a qualified attorney.
